I work in a clinical call center in a large city. When I started working here, I was ECSTATIC to be making what I was making (which, after 3 years is mere pocket change).
Until I met the rude patients.
The lazy patients.
The ignorant bastards.
The ones who thought I was their shrink, because they’d go on and on and on about their lives and other bullshit that I honestly do not give a rat’s ass about.
Bullshit leadership (LeaderSHIT)
the weight gain
the anxiety
the lethargy
and let me tell you, I cringe every time that phone rings.
I cannot find any more derogatory terms to describe this pathetic excuse for a job.
Heads up people, if you call a customer service rep from ANY field, do not speak to them like they owe you something, because if you do try to initiate contact in a snobby, disrespectful way, you may be the lucky one to find someone who’s fed up with call center bullshit AND WILL CALL YOU OUT! oh, you don’t like it? you wanna speak to the supervisor? they will be happy to transfer you. the supervisor is already backed up with complaints from people who think that telling on us scares us.
it does not.
9 times out of ten, the supervisor agrees that you were being a shithead.
all in all, nothing would make me happier than putting in my 2 weeks notice (if this damn job didn’t take up all of my potential-interview time). But one day, I will walk out of here, tell one of these rude jackasses to go fuck themselves with a cactus, take a dump on the superv.’s desk, and walk out with SOME dignity.
